Abati is frankly speaking a disappointment. He shamelessly asked the Kenyan Minister to prove what she said. There is no need for the woman to prove anything. Our journalists should have done that by finding out how many planes landed from Nigeria around the same time with the president.
Abati has really changed. This was the sort of things he was writing against before he betrayed his conscience by accepting the job of a town crier or bull dog at Aso Rock. His language is undiplomatic, offensive and personal at best when he replies to critics of President Jonathan. He must remember that no position is permanent. He will one day return to Ago Iwoye where I learnt that he hails from.
The way he replied Chief Akande was very abusive, undiplomatic and very unprofessional. People abuse Obama on Fox News all the time. You don’t see press secretaries in the White House writing or responding like Abati as if he had his journalism training at the University of Ajegunle.

Thank you Sam. This is the kind of illiteratecy we have in Nigeria. What Amina Mohammed is talking about is value and ethical thinking in a society where over80% of the population live in poverty. One or two aircraft were adequate. British Prime Minister in such a trip usually hire British Airways aircraft to carry all the delegates in order to have discussion and how to handle the outing because they were not going for the celebration only but to conduct business, Nigerians with exception of a few went their to enjoy themselves as usual. In fact in Britain there is no Presidential jet either for the Queen or the Prime Minister. I believe the Nigerian, against Boko Boko had never heard of Proteten Ethic in life. You may wonder how a Moslem came know about Protesten Ethic and talking about it while other Nigerians are blind about? They are Cathelic.

I remember me having 77 private jets in those days – they were spokes of my old bicycle that flew out one by one on my way home from my father’s farm. Those were good old days when people had values. Greed has taken over, even fishermen fly like witches these days.
