Nigerian screen diva, Ronnie Dim, CEO Ronnies Place/president concerned youth initiative for Peace and Development has commended Nigerian governors and other well meaning individuals who have contributed in one way or the other towards the restoration of her health when she was involved in an auto crash while on her way from Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
Ronnie commended the governors on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja while returning from China for another phase of surgery carried out on her.
Recall that Ronnie had developed displaced and fractured c4, c5, c6 and c8 as a result of the accident and was immediately flown abroad through the help of some governors, prominent among them were Governors Babangida Aliyu, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Gabriel Suswan.
Ronnie who spoke with DailyPost correspondent after her arrival at the international wing of the airport also thanked former Governor of Imo state, chief Ikedi Ohakim, Charles Oputa (Charlyboy), former INEC boss, Prof. Maurice mmaduakolam Iwu, her family and Ambassador David Egwu for their various supports when she was bedridden as a result of the accident.
According to Ronnie, she can’t stop thanking those who passionately helped to keep her alive.
She said ‘’I still find myself in some serious deep thought even after another successful surgery in China. In August 26, 2009, I found myself in what doctors call RTA ( Road Transport Accident) while I was on my way from Benue.
‘’That accident left me at the point of ‘from dust to dust’ but God said it was not time yet. Then He went further to use some great men in this country whom without apologies, I can’t help but respect; men who must have forgotten how much help they have rendered to me just to keep me alive. Some of these leaders, I only just met as a result of going to submit one proposal or the other, but they answered me when I needed someone to answer me speedily.
‘’ I went through the knife to have my C4, C5, C6 and C8 neck bone which was both fractured and displaced, corrected. I underwent an ACDF with iliac graft and a plate with screws to keep my neck together and in place.
‘’My surgery was for some huge sum of money and most of it came from these wonderful people.
‘’ I can’t help but to sincerely celebrate Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, governor Gabriel Suswan, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, prof. Maurice Iwu, Charles Emeka Oputa, my great hand surgeon, Dr Biodun Ogungbo ( neuro surgeon), David James Egwu, my family friends and some colleagues in the Nollywood who personally came to visit at the hospital.
‘’Make no mistake about it, but I’m very certain that Dr. Mu’azu can’t even remember ever rendering that help because I just met him then.
‘’It is important we recall all that happened few years ago, because God has saved me from another surgical operation. I thank Him and I thank all those who have always been supportive.’’
‘’I just returned from the final phase of the surgery in China and I thank God for my life as well as those who had contributed in one way or the other for my survival.
