Ex minister Femi Fani-Kayode has disclosed that he once had an intimate relationship with Bianca Ojukwu – wife of the late Colonel Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu – he stated this while trying to prove that he is not a tribalist.
“I was not a tribalist when I had a long-standing and intimate relationship with Miss Bianca Onoh, an igbo lady, who later married Colonel Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu the leader of Biafra and who is now our Ambassador in Spain. I was not a tribalist when I had a long-standing and intimate relationship with Miss Chioma Anasoh, another igbo lady, who I almost married. I was not a tribalist when I had a long-standing and intimate relationship with Miss Adaobi Uchegbu, another igbo lady, who was exceptionally close to me and who is now a leading figure at the National Headquarters of the ruling PDP.” he said in his latest article.

Nigerians must make an effort to fully familiarize themselves with the true and unimpeachable history of our various ethnic nations, past and present provincial and national leaders, and that of the greater Nigerian society itself. We as a people must do our individual and collective best to have a considerable understanding and grasp of our burgeoning pluralism—–its fractiousness and tortuous characteristics notwithstanding. More than 50 ethnic nations and 350 ethnicities were forced, with little or no input of their own into the British colonial arrangement, to erect the entity called Nigeria. The Nigerian people are generally patriotic in nature; but their real patriotism and allegiances are mostly reserved for the ethnic nations of their origin. The country has never stopped suffering from a split cultural duality between the mostly Islamic North(with a Jihadist leadership) and the more christianized Southern and Middle Belt regions. The Boko Haram terrorist insurgency has already gained traction and today, ordinary Nigerians are paying in blood for the violent dualism. There is also a split ethnic personality problem still dogging the various clans and tribes. And in some places, a split ethnic personality problem combines with ethnic and territorial dualities to excercebate the polarization. Considering all these factors at play and, regardless of our belongingness to the Nigerian polity, it’s very important for our people(s) to respect the faiths, customs, cultures, lands, and traditions not of their own individual origin. Yes, you may be Nigerian, but that should never absolve you of the responsobility to respect the customs and traditions of the territories in which you live as a “citizen guest”, internal migrant, or sojourner. Do not demand or lord upon others what you most likely will never offer, accept, or tolerate in your native homeland or province of origin. Always remain humble, gracious, and be of the best behaviour when you live in a foreign land. I hope Nigeria’s motto is still UNITY and PEACE because we all must continue to extol the value of their existence. People, please eschew hate, violence, intolerance, and disunity. Would you, please?
